Mr. Food: Hi everybody! As the old saying goes, Glad to be here!

RobinCCC: Our guest is here LIVE, and there's still time to send your questions! And now, please welcome our guest Art Ginsburg - better known as Mr. Food

Mr. Food: Let's share all the good stuff with the holidays coming. You know that any way I can help.

RobinCCC Says: Hello Mr. Food, Welcome to Talk City! What are some must have items any entertaining cook must have for the Holidays?

Mr. Food: I'm gonna be glad to. Robin, mostly quickies. Quickies that you can get on the table in no time at all. Anything that can be eaten without a lot of preparation. Things like cream cheese that you can use as a spread or as a cheese ball, or as a dip. All ready to go. You should have a cooked sausage of some type like a kielbasa or a turkey kielbasa or a salami.something that could be cut up, put out with a little mustard and chunks of bread. Add a pizza shell--have a ready-cooked pizza shell on hand. Whatever you spread on them becomes a complete meal. And a complete treat. That is just a few. Have fun!

Tommy Says: What would you put in an "emergency pantry," to be ready for guests and "instant" meals?

Mr. Food: Tommy, I'd have tuna fish, salmon, a canned meat, beans, barbecue sauce…and with those alone, you can do a million things. One of the standbys today is pasta. Because a big plate of pasta is quick, looks very ample, and everybody is happy. All those sausages we were talking about before can be mixed in - any of those items can be mixed in and you can have a complete meal. A can of mushroom soup always makes a great gravy, or a sauce. And definitely have some cheese. Cheese makes everything smooth and fulfilling.

Tony Says: Do you have a funny story about a big kitchen disaster and how you remedied the situation?

Mr. Food: Well one time I remember when I was catering - one of the water mains broke and we did a party in water up to our ankles! Not in the dining room, just in the kitchen. And I handled it very easily - I screamed. Screaming does wonders.

Gar^^trek Says: For just two persons, what is a good alternative to the big turkey dinner on Christmas Day?

Mr. Food: Today that's almost a simplicity because we can buy turkey parts, just the parts we like if we want. So if we only want a small breast we can get that, if we only want the thighs or drumstick we can get that - nothing says that we must have a whole turkey. If we want whole poultry to look very festive, we can stuff a small chicken, a duck, or Cornish hens. And boy, do all of these dress up the table.
