CosmoGIRL!: Welcome to our chat with Bobbi Brown. This chat is sponsored by CosmoGIRL! A magazine for REAL girls with REAL issues. Log on at www.cosmogirl.com Bobbi Brown: Hi, everybody. Thanks for joining us this evening. I'm looking forward to getting some great questions. Snowangel2188: What are suggestions on tweezing my eyebrows by myself? How should I know when I'm going overboard? Bobbi Brown: The first thing is to tweeze in good light - daylight is best - and it hurts less if you do it right out of the shower. Start tweezing between the brows and then take a few hairs from under the brow bone, but don't go too close towards the nose. Avoid the question mark look or tadpole eyebrows. And don't worry if you make a mistake - it does grow back! Nicholm: Are there eye shadows that are safe to wear if you wear contacts? My eyes seem to become very dry and irritated when I wear shadows. Bobbi Brown: Look for creamy shadows, either in a powder formula or a cream formula. Avoid eye shadows that are flaky, particularly shimmer shadows. Wheremygrlsat52: My eye shadow always makes my eyes burn. Do you know of any brands that might not? Bobbi Brown: Look for hypoallergenic products, which just means they are gentle and non-irritating. Fragrance free is the way to go! Mine are very gentle. And my best advice is to stay away from purples or red tones, as they irritate the eyes more. Sassy41: What do you think about colored mascaras? Bobbi Brown: I think colored mascara is fun. My biggest advice is to keep eye shadow color simple when using colored mascara. Navy and plum are my two personal favorites. But I'm also very fond of black and brown as an everyday mascara. Bobbifan: I have small eyes. How can I best make them a feature? Are there particular colors I should stay away from? Bobbi Brown: To make any eyes stand out, especially if your eyes are deep set, lining the eyes with a liner brush and powdered eye shadow is the best way. Avoid liquid liner, as it will make the eyes look smaller. Matte shadows used as liner can be smudged to look natural. Light eye shadow colors on the lid will also open up anyone's eyes. Sally: Bobbi, what are your views on eyelash tinting? Does it really make a difference? Bobbi Brown: I'm not a big fan of eyelash tinting. I prefer mascara because eyelash tinting can be irritating to the eyes. Shanda: Is it OK to use black lip liner with gold lipstick? Bobbi Brown: Absolutely not! Black lip liner should not exist. Dark lip liner is only good for girls that have dark lips. Look for a deeper lip liner than your lips, but definitely not black.
